Between January 2 and April 30, 2019, applications will be open for the 2019 edition of the “As New Frontiers of Engineering” Awards.
In the Teachers of Higher Education category, the award distinguishes an article published in a national or international scientific journal or presented at a national or international scientific congress related to Engineering Teaching, during the year 2018, by a teacher or group of teachers, University or Polytechnic, from the Central Region of Portugal (districts of Coimbra, Aveiro, Leiria, Viseu, Guarda and Castelo Branco). The value of the prize is 2500 Euros.
In the category Students of Basic and Secondary Education, the prize distinguishes the best work of the authorship of a student or group of students (maximum of 3 elements) of Secondary Education or Basic Education, related to Engineering or Technology, of Schools located in the Central Region (districts of Coimbra, Aveiro, Leiria, Viseu, Guarda and Castelo Branco). The value of the prize is 2000 Euros. In 2019 the works to be presented by the students should be subordinated to the theme: “Engineering Cares for the Environment”.
Candidates may send their work until 30 April 2019 to the headquarters of the Center Region of the Order of Engineers, located at Rua Antero de Quental nº 107, 3000-032 Coimbra.
