The Direction of SPEE met with the President of ABENGE at the end of CISPEE2018 on 29 June. At the meeting, points of interest were discussed between the two Societies, following the recently established protocol, namely a plan of action to promote the creation of similar societies in Portuguese-Speaking African Countries (PALOP). The President of ABENGE also extended an invitation to the President of SPEE to participate in COBENGE2018. At this event, a new meeting was held on September 5, with the participation of several members of the ABENGE Board along with the SPEE President and one of the SPEE Vice-presidents. A noteworthy point discussed at the meeting, was a potential new format of the ABENGE Engineering Education journal, one with a more international character and developed with the collaboration of Portuguese experts in the area.
